Gardner House
Person County, North CarolinaBlossom and Guy Gardner’s house, a typical clapboard farmhouse was built in 1916 by Guy’s grandparents on their 100-acre farm. The crop was primarily tobacco – still is, in fact, but the Gardners let someone else do the farming. When they inherited, it was in rough shape, having been occupied by sharecroppers after Guy’s grandparents passed away, so there has been a fair amount of restoration.
