Bynum General Store
Chatham County, North CarolinaBuilt in 1936, Bynum General Store was originally a gathering place where mill workers not only bought basic food supplies but also swapped news bits and family stories and kept gossip alive. Community interest has kept the building; now referred to as Bynum Front Porch; a hub of activity that is now used as a venue for music and storytelling events, parties and holiday bazaars.
